Addis Dominguez

Hardware/Software Engineer & QA

Addis Dominguez came to the U.S. from Cuba two years ago. With a degree in electrical engineering, obtained in Havana, Addis began her career as a Firmware Engineer in the aeronautical industry in Cuba.

Addis was awarded a scholarship to pursue her master’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico where she also worked as a professor of electronics. After 18 months in Mexico, Addis moved on to Vigo, Spain to complete her final project to obtain her masters. Addis spent six months at the Marine Research Institute as an intern. It was here that she developed her hands-on knowledge of designing FPGA and PICs implementations.

In early 2019, Addis joined the Critical Alert family as a member of the software/hardware development team conducting QA testing on development projects. She is a results-oriented person, making her a perfect fit for the R&D team. Addis enjoys a challenge, recently coming up with a innovative solution for a nurse call device project, saving development resources, time and cost.

Addis and her husband love living in the States, but she misses her big family back in Cuba. She is passionate about travel and discovering new places and cultures. Addis loves listening to Disney music; she finds it’s the best way to keep her focused on her tasks while keeping her relaxed and positive.
