Shane Garner

Sr. Technical Sales Engineer

Shane Garner began his career serving in the United States Marine Corps as a Helicopter Mechanic servicing the Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion. He was honorably discharged in November of 1993.

Upon exiting the USMC, he began working as an electrician (12/1993-9/2000) where he quickly earned his Journeyman’s License. During this time, Shane performed work in several hospitals including Ocala Regional Medical Center. ORMC then offered him a full-time position as the head Electrician which lead to his career in healthcare.

Shane performed his electrical duties and also began servicing nurse call systems (Rauland, Hill-Rom and Critical Alert (formerly Wescom/Intego). He quickly became familiar with the nurse call systems and found his new passion. It was at this time that Rauland-Borg Corporation of Florida quickly took notice of his skills with nurse call systems and offered him a position.

When asked “Why nurse call?” Shane responded: “I get bored easily. If my mind isn’t constantly moving and being challenged, I will lose interest and look for something else to do. Nurse call systems are always evolving which keeps me occupied and always on my toes in order to keep up with the technology and its evolution.”

In 2005, Shane’s wife had to relocate to Jacksonville, FL to continue her career path, and in December, he joined the Critical Alert Systems team as an Installation Technician. In time, he became an Installation Supervisor before ultimately transitioning to a Sales Engineer position. As a Sales Engineer, he helped bridge the gap between sales and installation and provided technical resource assistance in the sales process. Shane now leads the Technical Sales Group made up of a small group of Technical Sales Engineers that is responsible for all estimating, system design, CAD drawings and technical sales support. While managing the TSG, Shane also continues to assist the sales team both in the office and abroad at customer sites.

Shane lives with his wife, Jennifer and stepson, Eric and is an avid kayak fisherman in his spare time.
